✦ Thorts: Second Brain Notes
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Thorts: Second Brain Notes (the "App"), published by Christopher Pallant, trading as IamPalski ("we", "us", "our"), handles your information. We've built Thorts to be privacy-respecting: it collects as little as possible.
1. Who we are
The data controller for the App is Christopher Pallant (IamPalski). You can reach us at iampalski@outlook.com.
2. Information we collect
Your notes and content
The notes, ideas and tasks you create are your content. They are stored to provide the App's core functionality. We do not sell, rent or share Your Content, and we do not use it for advertising.
Email address
If the App offers account or sync features, we may collect your email address so we can identify your account and provide those features. This is linked to your identity and used only for app functionality.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your precise location, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use your content to build advertising profiles.
3. How we use your information
- to provide and maintain the App and its features;
- to identify your account, where applicable;
- to respond to support requests you send us; and
- to keep the App secure and diagnose technical problems.
4. Legal basis (UK/EU users)
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we process your information on the basis of performance of a contract (to provide the App you asked for) and our legitimate interests (to keep the App secure and working). Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
5. Storage & security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Where data is transmitted, it is protected in transit using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take your privacy seriously.
6. Data retention
We keep your information only for as long as needed to provide the App or as required by law. You can delete your content within the App, and you can ask us to delete any account information we hold by emailing us.
7. Third-party services
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store, and purchases are handled by Apple. Apple's own privacy policy applies to information they process. We do not sell your data to any third party.
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at iampalski@outlook.com. UK/EU users also have the right to complain to a data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected here.
